Contrary to what Lucy R. Lippard and John Chandler once stated in a famous article, something such ”dematerialized art” doesn’t exist. Even concerning virtual imagery or sound, there is always something material producing visual or auditory data. Information itself exists on a mental level thanks to the activity of brain. The ”material/dematerialized” opposition is obsolete. Douglas Huebler’s statement is made visible by paper and ink, Tony Do’s copy (or ”recycling” as he calls it) was possible thanks to a drawing software ran on hardware. It is the same for my copy.
